Item description from seller

Slightly oversized printed stiff wrappers. 80 pp. with full page photographic plates. Very good, creasing to the edges of the wraps and a foxed spot lower front cover. The Mercy Committee of New Jersey was established in May, 1915 with the stated purpose being, "emergency relief in time of war, pestience, famine ot other tragedy at home or abroad" (obviously in response to World War I). Its first work was the sending garments, materials, hospital supplies and money to France, Serbia, Poland, Belgium as well as to Camp Dix in New Jersey, the Navy League, and U.S. soldiers on the Mexican border. The report contains statistics on the various materials that were sent, the places where they were sent, New Jersey benefactors with details on what their donations paid for (eg: "two hospital beds"). There are also on meals served, Christmas supplies and gifts, etc. , More uncommon than one might think, a piece of New Jersyana we have not previously encountered.
