Later 1/2 calf, edges untrimmed. Front endpaper detached. 76, 119 pp., 3 folding maps and 3 sheets of profiles of railroad lines, including the second issue, from the original plate and unchanged, of James Hayward's 1828 map of the line from Boston to Providence, the first American railroad map according to Modelski, Railroad Maps of the United States. The other two maps are of the line from Boston to Albany. One shows from Boston to the Connecticut River, the other from Springfield (on the Connecticut River) to Albany. Thomson 325.
