Print on Demand. This book tells a story of racial tension and oppression in the American South during the Reconstruction Era after the American Civil War and liberation of enslaved people of African descent. The author, a Northerner who had fought in the Union Army, moved to the South after the war and lived there for several years. The book is an indictment of the treatment of African Americans by white Southerners and the federal government's role in exacerbating racial tensions. This book provides a valuable historical account of the Reconstruction Era and its impact on race relations in the United States. The author's insights into the causes and consequences of racial oppression remain relevant today and offer important lessons for understanding contemporary racial issues. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
