Hardcover. A deeper understanding of how humans relate to the sky reveals the profound ways our perception of the cosmos shapes culture, meaning, and our sense of place on Earth. Observing celestial cycles through embodied experience reconnects individuals with rhythms that have guided humanity for millennia. This awareness highlights the interdependence between the local landscape and the remote, seemingly unreachable expanse above it; an interdependence essential to understanding both human consciousness and our ecological responsibilities. Exploring this relationship shows how ancient and contemporary practices alike use geometry, orientation, and perception to bridge the gap between self and universe. Remote Space in the Architecture of Cosmology examines how built forms, past and present, create meaningful connections between earthly places and the remote space of the sky. It traces the architecture of cosmology from ancient observatories to contemporary land art, culminating in a phenomenological exploration grounded in lived experience. Covering topics such as archaeoastronomy, spatial perception, and time-based geometries, this book is an excellent resource for researchers, academicians, artists, philosophers and humanities scholars, and more.
