An urban fantasy exploration of dark psychological depths and unsettling cosmic mystery, Remembering Demons won the Literary Titan Gold Book Award and is a finalist in the American Writing Awards (AWA) in the categories 'best debut' and 'best fantasy'.
THIS IS HOW THE GOD CYCLE BEGINS... AND ENDS.
WITH DARYL, who wakes with no memory in a crumbling asylum where darkness strains against the mirrors reflecting a past he cannot face.
WITH SUSAN, his therapist—whose quiet influence might be his only hope… or his undoing.
WITH WERNER, a former physicist who speaks of patterns, infinite worlds, and things best left alone.
AND WITH HUBBLE, an invisible gnome who appears when reality cracks—usually with his pet chicken.
This is his reckoning—haunted by a small girl with terrible eyes, Daryl can no longer outrun the noose of a past that will choke the life from him even as it tears him apart.
Either the world is broken, or he is.
The truth may lie just beyond the glass.

"J. Cornelius’ Remembering Demons is the kind of dark fantasy that pulls you in with its eerie atmosphere and relentless sense of mystery. Remembering Demons plays with quantum physics and supernatural horror like they belong together, and Cornelius makes it work. If you love dark fantasy that makes you question reality, this one’s for you. It’s a slow burn, but the payoffs are worth it. Fans of The Silent Patient with a Lovecraftian twist, or House of Leaves but with more tangible horror, will eat this up.”
- Literary Titan
"Remembering Demons is one of the most original novels I've read in recent years. Imagine One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest colliding with the imagination of Angela Carter, broadsiding Lovecraft, and then travelling on into uncharted realms. J. Cornelius is an exciting new talent pushing the boundaries of genre fiction."
- Jonathan Oliver, award-winning editor and author of The Language of Beasts
“I cannot recommend this one enough to you if you enjoy your fantasy dark and with a side of horror. 5 stars.”
- Literary.schadenfreudian
“10/10 recommend if you enjoy dark fantasy/paranormal thrillers like Shutter Island.”

“My gosh! What an epic tale. The very talented author messed my head up with this one - in a good way - if that's even possible, ha!”
- Bookish Coffee UK
”If you are a fan of horror or weird fiction you need to read this asap. You will not be disappointed at all.”
- Whatyoutolkienabout
“Oh this was so good!!!! It completely played with my mind. This is the first book to ever come under the horror genre that's done this! The premise of the book was excellent. The story flowed well. The visuals were excellent and were extremely creepy. The ending was perfect ending it on a cliffhanger.”
- Tartan_teapotsandbooks_croft
“The writing was just brilliant, from the world building to the descriptions - I had such vivid images in my head of each encounter. I loved the fast-pacing and the short chapters kept tempting me to read on and on.”
