About the Authors

Moharana Choudhury is an Indian researcher and environmentalist. He is currently serving as a research coordinator in the Environmental Research and Management Division of "Voice of Environment" (A Scientific and Environmental Research Organization) in Guwahati, Assam, India. Choudhury has worked on various scientific projects across multiple government departments and has more than 14 years of experience in environmental research and services. He began his career as a research intern at the National Institute of Disaster Management in New Delhi, followed by a Junior Research Fellow position at the North Eastern Space Application Center (Department of Space, Government of India/ISRO Unit). Choudhury has authored or edited more than fifteen (15) books with internationally reputed publishing houses and more than 45 articles in internationally reputed journals, proceedings, and more than 65 book chapters. He has written many articles and scientific reports in popular magazines. He has been working as an editor and reviewer for various prestigious international publishing houses worldwide, including Elsevier, Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Springer, Frontiers, Wiley, CRC Press/Routledge, Apple Academic Press, and Cambridge Scholar Publishing. Choudhury is working on various environmental conservation activities in Assam and throughout the country. He has worked on several initiatives to integrate environmentally sustainable projects into iconic heritage places, wetlands, and ecotourism spots in Assam, India, especially to promote cleanliness and combat single-use plastic pollution. He contributes to various environmental research, management, social media, mass awareness, and research studies. He is also well known in India for his efforts to implement environmental education and safeguard the privileges of environmental degree holders in India. He has completed his education with an MSc, PGDGIS, PGDEM, and PGCGARD from Gurukul Kangri Deemed to be University, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Meghalaya, Tezpur University, Assam, and the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, India, respectively.

Sushobhan Majumdar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Mahavidyalaya (Affiliated to Bankura University, India). He is an applied geographer who holds a doctorate in geography from the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Science at Jadavpur University in Kolkata and a postgraduate degree from Presidency University in Kolkata. Previously he was employed by the Government of West Bengal as a ‘Group A Officer’ in the “Minority Affairs and Minority Education Department�. He is presently engaged in research on the design and development of environmental geographies. Urban geography, social geography, regional development and planning, remote sensing and GIS, and geography of transport are among his main areas of study. Additionally, he is working on different development projects for the Government of West Bengal's Socio 3 Economic Planning Unit of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). He has more than 50 research papers published in a variety of reputable journals, proceedings, and edited volumes both nationally and internationally. He has already authored two edited volumes on urban related issues. He has held an excess of 30 national and international seminars and conferences, both in India and overseas. He gave guest or special talks as part of numerous national and regional programs. He holds memberships in the Geographical Society of India, the Regional Science Association of India (RSAI), the Institute of Indian Geographers (IIG), and the National Association of Geographers of India (NAGI). He has recently been heavily involved in mapping and simulating surface temperatures in Indian metropolises and their effects on the environment.

Mika Sillanp�� is a professor at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. His research centers on chemical treatment in environmental engineering, environmental monitoring, and resource recovery from waste streams.

Sillanp�� received his M.Sc. (Eng.) and D.Sc. (Eng.) degrees from the Aalto University where he also completed an MBA degree in 2013. Since 2000, he has been a full professor/adjunct professor at the University of Oulu, the University of Eastern Finland, the LUT University, the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Johannesburg.

He has received numerous awards for research and innovation. He is the first Laureate of Scientific Committee on the Problems of the Environment (SCOPE)’s Young Investigator Award, which was delivered at the UNESCO Conference in Shanghai 2010 for his “significant contributions, outstanding achievements and research leadership in Environmental Technological Innovations to address present water pollution problems worldwide, especially with regard to wastewater treatment and reuse�. In 2011, he was invited to act as a Principal Scientific Reviewer in the GEO-5 report of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP). In 2012, he received Tapani J�rvinen Environmental Technology Award and Publication Award of the Lappeenranta University of Technology. In 2014, he received the Science Award of the Lappeenranta University of Technology and Pro Mikkeli Award. In 2018, he was invited as a Member of the Finnish Academy of Sciences and Letters and Technology Academy of Finland. He also received Literature award from the Water Association of Finland in 2018.

Statutory right to withdraw

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Kennys Bookstore, Olney, Maryland, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
