Print on Demand. This book includes ancient documents, grants, and historical events, painstakingly collected by generations of monks at the Farfa Abbey in central Italy. They provide an enlightening and comprehensive view of the development of Western Christianity. The author, Gregorio Di Catino, researched within the depths of the monastery archives to present a historical account of the abbey as a linchpin of Catholic expansion and political influence in the early Middle Ages. Within this extensive collection, you will find the evolution of the Papacy, and the great reach of its authority to appoint, depose, and crown kings and emperors. Tomo after tome contains an incredibly detailed account of the start of the Holy Roman Empire, the formation of a unified Catholic Church, and the far-reaching influence of the Benedictine monastic order. This book is a trove of primary source material that will be invaluable to anyone interested in the history of Christianity, the Papacy, or the Middle Ages. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
