CHAPTER 1
"LOST AND FOUND"
A love which was once lost,
in weary and trying times,
and nothing's right at any cost.
When all your prayers seem unheard,
and all appears to be a total loss,
just listen for an encouraging word,
There's one book that's tried and true,
it's found to be full of wisdom,
and a treasure of knowledge too.
Read it and be truly blessed,
for the prophets of long ago,
will surely put your mind at rest.
And what once was lost friend,
can surely be found once more,
kept in your heart til the very end.

"PASTOR AND FRIEND"
From the very first time he came to us,
we've been so blest to have him,
and for everyone a very big plus.
This reverend man of GOD,
has doubled our congregation,
this preacher we call pastor Todd.
And now he must be moving on,
for GOD has called our pastor,
for another crown to don.
Although this family's grieving,
we wish for him GODS blessings.
Yet we'll miss him at his leaving.
May his guardian angel stay,
by his side as his new venture develops,
guiding him come what may.

"MIND OVER MATTER"
Trying to concentrate I must confess,
at this; my really small desk,
among the clutter and the mess,
With not too much room to spare,
I've gone and added a P.C.,
could I put it here or there?
I believe I've gone overboard,
should I buy a larger desk,
and one I really can't afford !
Guess I'll just keep the one I got,
it's a much smaller desk, but
it's mine, and that means a lot !

"LAMP OF LIGHT"
As old as the sands of time this light,
which burns from the beginning of birth,
it burns throughout the day and into night.
This lamp is fueled by a profound love,
sending out its light over the world,
brilliant and bright as the sun above.
Because of its radience and glow,
it sheds a warmth for all to feel,
yet comforting to only those who know.
The lamp is refueled time after time,
by the caring and sharing of those who
delight in the lamps light sublime.
The lamp is the LAMB; the great I AM,
HE who grants us grace, love, and hope,
and so it is the lamp who is the LAMB.

"THE ROCKING CHAIR"
There stood the rocking chair so still,
it was empty now of human weight,
yet at times it seemed to rock at will.
Grandpa's gone for quite awhile now,
but it seems he wont let go of his
favorite old rocking chair anyhow.
The old cabin porch is still creaking,
as the rocking chair keeps rocking,
and the screen door keeps squeaking.
You can almost hear grandpa there,
as that rocker just keeps rocking,
and not a breeze blowing anywhere.
Do you suppose grandpas' rocking his chair,
or is it some old timers hairy tale, when
uninvited folks come round to scare.

"BUTTERFLIES"
During Spring and Summer skies,
and mountain air is warm and dry,
there comes multitudes of butterflies
The time they spread their wings,
to show their beautiful colors,
like colorful rainbows of all things.
From the incubator of a cocoon,
it's moulting in natures own time,
through long nights under the moon
Then one bright and sunny morn,
a stirring inside the little shell,
emerging into one of natures newborn.
This is natures pattern in process,
as the butterflies life is so short,
it makes me wonder I must confess.

"THE SEEKER"
In early times there was a man,
this man was in search of himself,
if only he knew of faith; instead he ran,
Life seemed always to be turmoil,
as he taveled on many unknown paths,
when meeting christian folks he'd recoil.
As he roamed bemoaning place to place,
becoming weary, tired and very worn,
there was a man he met face to face.
This man had no shoes or fancy clothes,
yet he radiated a wonderful glow,
was this person real? He didn't suppose.
But then something he couldn't explain,
as grace and faith came into his heart,
cleansing him like a soft Spring rain.

"IMAGINE IF YOU CAN"
Imagine if you can a world at its end,
imagine so much suffering and pain,
imagine if you can precious friend.
What would it be like without any rain,
can you imagine a world with no sun,
total darkness would only bring disdain,
In that darkness there would be no green,
but swirling dust and bolts of lightning,
and devastation like you've never seen.
Though sinners and faithless may perish,
the supreme CREATOR will cleanse, and
renew the earth for HIS chosen to cherish.
Imagine if you can a world without sin,
no more disease, no more pain, and
a new paradise for us to live in.

"EACH TIME I CRIED"
When my puppy died, I cried.
Our cat died, and I cried.
Our president died, and I cried.
When Mom died, I cried.
When our son died, I cried.
When GODS' only son died,
I cried and cried when HE died.
Why must death hurt so much,
it should be a release from pain,
so we can throw away that crutch.
The pain and suffering JESUS felt,
we couldn't bear or accept, yet
He did for us with every welt!
Blessed are those who do cry,
to pacify the loss of loved ones,
leaving not a single dry eye.

"ABUNDANCE"
Abundance: to have all that we need,
in this land so full of GODS' gifts:
but why then do we not heed !
Does not our Creator care for those,
the lowest in all of humanity, and
the high and mighty, do you suppose?
God cloaks and feeds birds of the air,
with life's sustaining abundant needs,
and all that's on earth in His care.
Were it not for the abundant grace,
and love bestowed on us His kin,
we couldn't survive this worldly place.

"COUNTRY SINGERS"
Though they're too numerous to mention,
singing patriotic, love, or sad songs,
a tribute to these folks is my intention!
They travel far and wide to perform,
beautiful and talented country singers,
at times under stress that's not the norm.
From revered gospel to crossover pop,
bluegrass, to front porch country,
this musical talent must never stop.
It started out with fiddles and guitars,
and banjos, harmonicas, and harps,
played by country folk neath the stars.
Friends and neighbors would come round,
to join in or just listen and clap hands,
even the preacher stops by at the sound.

"CHERISH TODAY"
If today was destined to be our last,
would we be able to reconcile with GOD,
and those from our long ago past ?
We should count our many blessings,
and the fruit from the tree of life,
by grace of the Creator of all things.
Cherish today for all that we possess,
giving thanks and praise to our Creator,
and praying for those we wish Him to bless.
Cherish today as if it were the last,
dismiss all bad memories of long ago,
and renew your faith in a new cast.
Only then can life be truly more fruitful,
knowing we have blessings from above,
and around us a world more beautiful.

"SARAHS' MOUNTAIN"
A child~~and only ten years old,
a beautiful child named Sarah,
fighting for her life to unfold.
Nurtured by loving parents praying,
as if a mountain was bearing down,
and a strong faith in GOD without saying.
After months of Sarah suffering,
for her much too short life span,
with friends and family comforting.
Then a total Samaritan stranger,
whose life had ended suddenly,
was Sarah s' salvation from danger.
From darkness to dawns bright light,
GOD moved little Sarah s' mountain,
giving her new life without a fight!

"WAYWARD WIND"
Wayward wind blowing across the land,
as unpredictable as the sands of time,
can't be slowed or stopped by human hand.
So much in contrast like a tornado,
causing damage, devastation, and demise,
no one knows which way it will go.
But for one absolute moment in time,
when all seems quiet and normal,
the wayward wind again begins to climb
As the wind once again swirls and sways,
disturbing peace and quiet once more,
we can hope and pray for better days.
This is the time for us to reconcile,
to respect the ways of Mother Nature,
knowing the sun will shine in awhile!

"SHOW AND TELL"
Show the love you have for your friends,
keeping them close, and in your heart,
tell them of the love that never ends !
Show them lifes beautiful things,
and the many gifts of love from GOD,
tell them of all the joy it brings.
Show the world how much you care,
by prayer and charitable giving,
tell of the children in need everywhere.
Show everyone whose life you touch,
how the son of GOD gave HIS life,
tell them what HE asks is not much.
Show that what's given from the heart,
and by the grace and love of GOD,
tell how it doesn't hurt or even smart !

"MOUNTAIN MIST"
In the very early morning sunrise,
when dew sparkles on the foliage,
the mist rises up toward the skies.
All GODS' creatures great and small,
arrive at every water filled source,
then off in search of hungers call.
The cooling, moist mountain mist,
is refreshing to all vegetation,
and by Mother NATURE kissed.
As one of natures great number,
a magical blanket of misty vapor,
is a Smokey Mountain wonder !

"GOOD MORNING JESUS"
Thank you Lord for a restful night,
Lamb of GOD, creator of all things,
I trust in you to make all things right.
Thank you Jesus for another blessed day,
to awaken again by your loving grace,
and for your blessing this I pray!
I'm blessed by the talents given me,
and truly grateful Lord for being
able to share it with others to see!
Jesus, I'm looking forward to,
but not surprised at the most
wondrous things that you do!
In my life you'll always be,
guiding me along life's path,
and beyond, into eternity.

"OLD SOUTHERN COMFORT"
Oh what beautiful music is made,
by the magic of so many musicians,
playing the blues while underpaid.
And yet it wasn't all for the money,
it was for the blues and soul sounds,
flowing from instruments like honey.
Self made, and from the southern belt,
in tune with the roadhouse scents,
and blues sounds to make hearts melt.
With blues singers like Dinah and Ella,
working with bands like Duke and Louie,
would melt the heart of any fella.
It was such a pleasure to hear,
on those southern comfort nights,
the pleasing sounds to any ear !

"THE ROCKING HORSE"
See this here rodeo buckle I've won?
I was a little buckeroo once like you,
and one day you'll win one too son!
Son if you want to be a cowboy,
you need to start out real small,
like a rocking horse; it's not just a toy.
Careful son don't let him throw you,
hold on real easy, and sit up straight,
you'll get used to him, just ride him true.
Ease up on the reins son just a little,
and ride in the saddle that's yours,
and he'll meet you right in the middle.
Cause he's not only just a rocking horse,
he's like a training pony for young
dreamer wannabee cowboys, of course !

"REALITY CHECK"
I can't remember where I've been, and
not sure where I'm going,
but when
I get there I'll know where I am, if I can
remember how I got there.
I don't know who I'm writing to or why.
It could be me or you wherever
we are.
In any case I must be going somewhere,
or coming from someplace.
It really makes no difference anyway,
cause I'm already here, and done that !

"HOLD ON"
If life seems to pass you by, hold on
no matter what the circumstances,
There's one you can trust, so HOLD ON.
When you just feel like letting go,
and nowhere to turn, HOLD ON,
you have a friend in JESUS you know !
Pray to HIM for guidance, peace,
and comfort during hard times,
then watch the hard times cease.
Let not your heart be troubled, JUST
believe in the FATHER, and the SON,
ask and you shall receive, so HOLD ON.

"THE WINDMILL"
Four sturdy vanes turning in the wind,
working hard turning the gears below,
grinding away at those who've sinned.
Four vanes representing Faith in Him,
in the Hope that we are worthy of
His Love, and not just a whim !
Four vanes; incomplete without Forgiveness
so that we are all Forgiven by the
grace and Love of the true creator.
When all the vanes turn in sync,
and the gears mesh in smooth harmony,
it's progress. Don't you think ?

"POPPY"
The Power Of Poetry, Prayer, and You,
poetry to sooth the learned mind,
and prayer and power in all you do.
All the reverence is in the name,
our Father, ABBA, even Poppy,
when praying to Him, it's no shame
We can worship whom and how we please,
in this turbulent upended world of ours,
that's corrupted by sin and disease !
The power of poems and prayer,
that are heartfelt and meaningful,
are meant for folks everywhere.

"A COUNTRY BLESSING"
There's a song and prayers from the heart,
somewhere in this southern country,
where Sundays; folks go for a fresh start.
To give thanks to their Creator,
for the blessings bestowed them,
and prayers by a preacher mediator.
Prayers asking for crops to grow,
and singing praises for a newborn
child, who Jesus it'll get to know.
What would life be without preachers,
the men of GOD, and ministers,
the disciples of CHRIST, HIS teachers!
