Redcoats to Red Roses: Volume II - 1803 to 1815 is the definitive military history of the forebears of The Queen's Lancashire Regiment (the 30th, 40th, 47th, 59th, 81st, and 82nd Regiments of Foot) during the pivotal Napoleonic War. From the breakdown of the Peace of Amiens in 1803 to the final victory at Waterloo in 1815, these brave soldiers fought on five continents and seas across the world999.
This comprehensive volume vividly recounts their long struggle against Buonaparte's lieutenants, culminating in a clash with the Emperor himself on the field of Waterloo10. Follow the extraordinary journey of the $40^{th}$ Foot, one of just three regiments who fought throughout the entire six-year Peninsula War in Spain, Portugal, and the South of France, and the only one of those to also take part in the crowning victory of Waterloo11
Inside, you will find detailed, battalion-level accounts of major campaigns and more than fifty battles and sieges12, including:
An essential read for anyone interested in British Army History, the Peninsular War, and the crucial role of these regiments in defeating Napoleon. Regimental history brought to life!
