Every theatre critic knows the rule. Never get too close.
Connor Irons has built his reputation on that rule. A sharp-eyed reviewer whose words can make or break a West End performance. But when rising star Aiden Wolff takes the stage, Connor's carefully drawn boundaries shatter.
From the stalls he sees more than talent. He sees a spark, a magnetism that drags him past the safety of observation into something dangerously personal. Aiden isn't just another actor. He is the man Connor hasn't been able to forget since a fleeting encounter a year earlier. When their eyes lock across the curtain call, the chemistry is undeniable. Impossible to resist.
What begins at the stage door spirals into something far riskier. A secret connection that blurs the line between critic and subject, honesty and desire. In Aiden's flat, Connor discovers intimacy he thought he had lost forever. But reputations are fragile and secrets never stay buried. Every off-the-record moment comes at a price.
Off the Record is a bold, intoxicating romance set against the charged backdrop of the West End. A story of forbidden attraction, power and vulnerability, and the dangerous thrill of breaking the rules for the one person worth the risk.
If you crave theatre-set drama, slow-burn intensity that catches fire, and characters willing to gamble everything for connection, you'll be captivated by Off the Record.
Colin Dobson-Fox never thought he would become a writer. Growing up with ADHD, reading itself often felt like a struggle, and writing seemed like an impossible dream. But in 2024, everything changed. What began as a personal experiment quickly became a passion, and his very first published short story went on to become a Best-Seller.
That breakthrough revealed what Colin had suspected for years: the same ADHD that made traditional study difficult had gifted him a unique ability to hyper-focus on research, build intricate characters, and explore the finer details of human experience now fuels the stories he creates.
Colin's work blends erotic gay fiction with emotional truth. His stories are not just about desire, but about the vulnerabilities and tensions that live beneath it: moments of recognition, quiet resilience, and the intimacy that binds people together. Many readers say his books give language to emotions they have felt but never found words for.
Before becoming an author, Colin built a career out of storytelling in other forms, working as a radio and television presenter before co-founding Foxes Afloat, one of the UK's most loved lifestyle YouTube channels. That ability to connect with audiences flows naturally into his writing voice: warm, open, and deeply human.
Today Colin lives in the far north Highlands of Scotland with his husband, dog Ollie, chickens, and bees. The peace of the countryside helps him focus, while the raw beauty of the landscape inspires him to create.
He only began writing in 2024, yet within months his work had already topped book charts. Proof that it's never too late to discover a new love.about escape alone, but about connection.
