Paperback. The role of higher education in planetary wellbeing calls for a profound reimagining of the purpose and responsibility of universities in an era of global and social crisis. As centers of knowledge creation and innovation, higher education institutions are uniquely positioned to lead the transformation toward sustainable futures. This movement urges academia to move beyond isolated disciplines and toward holistic approaches that integrate social equity and ethical governance into teaching and community engagement. By embracing planetary wellbeing as a guiding principle, higher education can renew its moral and civic mission. Reclaiming the Role of Higher Education in Planetary Wellbeing explores how educational institutions can advance sustainability. This book explores innovative strategies, interdisciplinary approaches, and institutional policies that embed environmental consciousness into curriculum design, campus operations, leadership practices, and community engagement. Covering topics such as higher education, environmental sciences, and climate change, this book is an excellent resource for educational institutions, administrators, academicians, teachers, climate change experts, and policy makers.
