nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Your attention is not gone. It has been claimed. We live in a world designed to interrupt us. Notifications fracture thought. Screens fill every pause. Work follows us home, and convenience quietly replaces presence. Yet the answer is not to reject technology. It is to recover the authority to decide when and where it belongs.Reclaiming Attention offers a practical, humane path out of digital overload and back into a more tactile life. Through five carefully structured pillars, Kenneth Spalding shows how ordinary rituals can restore focus, calm and connection: beginning the day before the feed, planning work on paper, creating visible boundaries, rediscovering physical media and hands-on hobbies, protecting the bedroom and table, and keeping a recurring 24-hour Digital Sabbath. This is not a rigid detox or a nostalgic retreat from modern life. It is a guide to deliberate friction-small changes in rooms, objects and routines that make the life you want easier to enter. A moved charger, a mechanical clock, an open notebook, a walk without evidence, a meal without screens: each becomes a practical act of attention.Thoughtful, beautifully illustrated and grounded in research, Reclaiming Attention is for anyone who feels overconnected, distracted or tired of living at the pace of the stream. It invites readers to reclaim mornings, work, leisure, home and time-one room, one ritual and one undivided moment at a time.…

Most of us do not hate our phones.
We are simply tired.
Tired of being reachable before we are awake. Tired of looking up from a screen and wondering where the evening went. Tired of meals shared with devices, bedrooms that no longer feel restful, workdays broken into fragments, and leisure that stimulates without restoring.
Reclaiming Attention is a calm, practical guide to reclaiming attention in an always-on world.
This is not a book about rejecting technology. It is a book about refusing surrender.
Through everyday rituals and simple physical changes, Reclaiming Attention shows how to rebuild the thresholds that modern life has quietly erased: the morning before the feed, the bedroom before the phone, the desk before the inbox, the walk before the data, the table before the screen, and the Sabbath before the stream.
Inside, you will discover how to:
- Reclaim the first minutes of the morning before the digital world enters
- Create a phone-free bedroom and restore sleep as a protected space
- Use paper, notebooks and physical boundaries to defend focus
- Replace passive scrolling with tactile hobbies and restorative leisure
- Build an analog nook, table ritual and calmer home environment
- Practise a 24-hour digital Sabbath without guilt or extremism
- Return to technology with more authority and less automatic surrender
Reclaiming Attention is for readers interested in digital minimalism, reducing screen time, attention recovery, slow living, mindful technology use, deep focus, offline rituals and a more tactile everyday life.
The promise is simple:
You do not need to reject technology.
You need to recover the parts of yourself that technology has trained you to neglect.
Move one object. Protect one threshold. Let one room become loyal again.
The world can wait.
