About the Author
Dr. Debi Prasad Mishra, former Director of NITTTR Kolkata, is currently a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK). He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, National Institute of Technology Calicut, and is the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi. His research interests include propulsion, combustion, and atomization. Dr. Mishra has previously held the prestigious Indian Oil Golden Jubilee Professional Chair at IIT Kanpur. Over the course of his career, he has received numerous awards and recognitions. He has authored five textbooks and twelve edited volumes in the areas of combustion and propulsion, and holds five patents. He has published more than 283 research papers in leading international and national journals and conferences.
Dr. Subrata Mondal is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR) Kolkata, Salt Lake City, West Bengal, India. His research area of interests includes nanomaterials, biomaterials, shape memory polymer, metal matrix and polymer matrix composites/nanocomposites. So far, Dr. Mondal has 61 SCI journal papers, two USA patents, twenty-two book chapters (published/accepted), and 23 conferences. Total citation of his work is over 5500, h-index 31 and i-10 index 54. He has reviewed research proposals from USA-Israel BARD fund and FONDECYT-CHILE (Chile’s National Research Grant), Republic of Chile. Currently, Dr. Mondal is an editorial board member for the Journal of Chemistry (SCI journal) Wiley.
Dr. Mrinal Kaushik has been Professor of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Kharagpur since January 2026. From October 2020 to January 2026, he worked as an Associate Professor, and from May 2013 to October 2020, as an Assistant Professor, in the same department. Before that, he held the position of Assistant Professor at the Defense Institute of Advanced Technology in Pune. His professional experience also includes serving as a CAE Engineer at the General Motors Technical Center in Bangalore, a Project Manager at HyTech Professionals in Noida, a Research Scientist at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) at VSSC in Trivandrum, and a Senior Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services in Mumbai. Dr. Kaushik earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2012, following his M.Tech in 2003 and B.Tech in 1999, also from IIT Kanpur. His research interests focus on Shock-Wave/Boundary-Layer Interactions, and Supersonic Jet Control and Acoustics. He has published 46 articles in international journals, 38 articles in refereed conference proceedings, 20 patents (filed/granted), and 1 edited volume. In addition to his research work, Dr. Kaushik has authored 5 textbooks for engineering students: Fluid Mechanics: Theory, Problems, and Applications (CRC Press, Taylor & Francis, USA, In Writing), Instrumentation and Measurements in Compressible Flows (CRC Press, Taylor & Francis, USA, 2023), Fundamentals of Gas Dynamics (Springer Nature, Singapore, 2022), Theoretical and Experimental Aerodynamics (Springer Nature, Singapore, 2019), and Essentials of Aircraft Armaments (Springer Nature, Singapore, 2016). Moreover, he has authored 2 reference books: Hydraulic Transients in Smart Water Networks (CRC Press, Taylor & Francis, USA, In Writing) and Innovative Passive Control Techniques for Supersonic Jet Mixing (Lambert Academic Publishing, Saarbrücken, Germany, 2012).

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Books Puddle, New York, New York, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
