The volume also highlights various real-world applications such as water treatment through adsorption and photocatalysis, fuel cells, energy storage, hydrogen generation, carbon dioxide reduction, coatings, sensors, and medical technologies.
This book serves as a valuable resource for researchers, engineers, and professionals working in the field of materials science and engineering.
Dr. Sunita Rattan, Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, is Professor and Dean Science & Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, and Director, Amity Institute of Applied Sciences. She has held many administrative and academic positions throughout her career. She has rich experience in Academics and Research. Her research areas include polymer grafting, fuel cell membrane, nanocomposites for structural applications, stimulus responsive polymeric membranes, chemiresistive sensors, and membranes for selective separation. She has published more than 80 research papers in reputed international journals and presented around 70 papers in national and international conferences. She has filed 15 patents out of which six are granted. She has funded projects from reputed funding organizations including DRDO, DST, IUAC, BRNS, SERB, and from international agencies. Prof. Sunita Rattan has supervised a number of students for their Ph.D. programs. In addition to her above assignments, she is serving as secretary Asian Polymer Association.
Dr. Sangeeta Tiwari is Professor in Chemistry and Head (Academic co-ordination), Amity Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS), Amity University Noida. She has also served as Head, Department of Chemistry for eight years. She did her Ph.D. from CSIR-Advanced Materials Processes and Research Institute, Bhopal, before joining Amity. She has granted patents with CSIR and Young Scientist awards from M.P. Council of Science and Technology and Indian Science Congress Association. At Amity, she is actively engaged and has significant contribution, at various levels, in diverse areas of teaching, research, and many important administrative and developmental activities of AIAS. At present, she is working in the area of engineered functional materials for removal of toxic contaminants from water and for use as near Infra reflective (NIR) pigments for heat reflective coatings.
Dr. Seema Garg is Professor and Head of Student Affairs at Amity Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS), Amity University, Noida. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2003 from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Her research interests lie primarily in the areas of water treatment, photocatalysis, hydrogen generation, and carbon dioxide reduction, with a focus on developing advanced materials to enhance photocatalytic efficiency and deliver cost-effective environmental solutions.
Dr. Garg holds 19 patents and has published extensively in reputed international journals. She serves on the editorial and reviewer boards of several scientific journals. She has successfully supervised four Ph.D. scholars, with four more currently pursuing their doctorates under her guidance.
