This book comprises select peer-reviewed proceedings from the 6th International Conference on Recent Advancements in Mechanical Engineering (ICRAME 2025). It provides a broad overview of cutting- edge research in thermal fluid and energy sciences. Key topics include advanced energy systems, optimization of thermal, flow, and turbo machinery systems, computational and numerical methods in fluid flow and heat transfer, and the latest technologies for aerospace, nuclear, and space applications. The book also covers supersonic combustion, renewable energy, two-phase and multiphase flows, internal combustion engines, and biofluid mechanics. In addition, it explores measurement and instrumentation for fluid flow and transport properties, micro and nano-scale fluid dynamics, cryogenic heat transfer, fluid power systems, turbo machinery, and the rheology of complex fluids. This publication is a valuable resource for researchers and professionals in the field of thermal and fluid sciences.

About the Author
Gautam Choubey is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, Assam, India. He holds a Ph.D. in the field of supersonic combustion, an M.Tech in thermal engineering from NIT Silchar. He is working from past 11 years on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling of supersonic compressible flow and authored over 50 publications in reputed journals (SCI/SCIE). His research interests mainly include scramjet combustion, supersonic combustion, turbulence modelling in high-speed flows, and shock-boundary layer interaction. Dr. Choubey’s name also figured among the top 2% researchers and scientists of the world in a report published by Stanford University, USA and Elsevier BV, Netherlands for the year 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021.
Abhishek Paul is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Silchar, specializing in combustion, internal combustion (IC) engines, fuel hybridization, and alternative energy systems. He completed his Ph.D. from NIT Agartala in 2015 and has since focused on developing sustainable fuel options, including biofuels and hydrogen dual- fuel systems. His work has led to multiple research projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Dr. Paul has published over 40 journal articles and conference papers, with his work cited over 1200 times, reflecting his significant contributions to the field. Presently he is working on sustainable hydrogen production from wastes.
Dharmendra Tripathi is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand. Prior to joining NIT Uttarakhand, he has worked more than 12 years as faculty member (Associate Professor, Assistant Professor) in various reputed institutions like Manipal University Jaipur, NIT Delhi, IIT Ropar and BITS Pilani Hyderabad. He completed his PhD in applied mathematics (mathematical modelling of physiological flows) in 2009 from Indian Institute of Technology BHU and MSc in mathematics from Banaras Hindu University. He has supervised 08 PhD students and 05 are working under his supervision. He has also guided various B.Tech projects. He has published more than 200 papers in reputed international journals, 03 edited books in Springer, 01 edited book in CRC, 12 book chapters and presented more than 40 papers in international and national conferences.
Rajsekhar Panua is a Professor and the current Head of the Department in Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Agartala. He is a well-established academic in the field of mechanical engineering, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala. He holds a Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, where his research laid the foundation for his expertise in internal combustion (IC) engines and thermal power engineering. Dr. Panua’s research interests are focused on the performance and emissions of CI (compression ignition) engines, particularly in the context of using alternative fuels such as diesel-LPG and diesel-ethanol blends. His work aims to explore sustainable and efficient fuel options to reduce environmental impact. Over his career, he has authored more than 70 publications, including journal articles and conference papers, reflecting his significant contribution to the field. In addition to his research, Dr. Panua has supervised several Ph.D. scholars, guiding research in areas such as the performance-emission trade-offs in engines fueled by various diesel-CNG and diesel-LPG combinations.
