Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating concept of critical incidents, offering invaluable insights into how individuals perform and interact within their professional roles. The author meticulously analyzes data collected from various occupational groups, uncovering a compelling pattern: people tend to recall recent events more vividly than those that occurred further in the past. This finding challenges the traditional practice of annual performance appraisals, which rely heavily on supervisors' memory and can often lead to biased or inaccurate evaluations. The book advocates for the implementation of performance records that capture critical incidents as they happen, ensuring a more comprehensive and objective assessment of employee performance. The book's exploration of human memory and its implications for performance evaluation makes a significant contribution to the field of human resources. By understanding the limitations of memory and the benefits of timely documentation, organizations can create more effective and fair performance management systems, ultimately fostering employee growth and development. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
