The first two books of Rufus' history are lost; his history of Alexander the Great was originally composed of ten books. His sources include Ptolemy and Cleitarchus, the latter was a contemporary of Alexander the Great. This history preserves valuable facts concerning the life of Alexander, and historically significant details on life and culture in ancient Macedonia. A charming copy of a popular Roman history.
