Life is full of moments that invite us to pause, reflect, and see more deeply. This collection of poems offers gentle wisdom for those moments.
Written by Alex and Eva Peck, these reflective poems explore the joys, challenges, and mysteries of life with honesty, warmth, and compassion. Born from years of observation, contemplation, and lived experience, they encourage readers to slow down, gain a fresh perspective, and discover meaning in both life's celebrations and struggles.
Organised into eight themes, the collection includes poems on:
- Truths of Life
- Wisdom for Life
- Acceptance
- End-of-Life Reflections
- In Memoriam
- Friendship
- Family
- On a Lighter Note
Grounded in real-life experience, these poems speak to universal human questions rather than promoting any particular belief system. Whether you follow a spiritual path or not, you will find reflections that encourage hope, resilience, gratitude, compassion, and inner peace. Readers may also notice a gentle undercurrent of Christian and Buddhist wisdom that has influenced the authors' perspectives.
Beautifully complemented by abstract artwork of Eva's father, Jindřich (Henry) Degen, each poem invites quiet contemplation, making this more than a poetry collection-it is rather a companion for reflection.
As the authors have journeyed through life's later decades, several enduring truths have emerged for them: life is a precious gift that is fleeting and unpredictable; our choices shape our future; and joy and sorrow often walk hand in hand. Yet alongside these deeper reflections is a welcome touch of humour and lightness, reminding us to smile as we travel life's path.
Whether you read one poem each morning, reflect on a favourite passage before bed, or return to the collection whenever you need encouragement, these verses offer timeless insights that will continue to resonate long after the final page.
May these words inspire you to reflect more deeply, live more fully, and appreciate the extraordinary wisdom hidden within ordinary life.
