Christ is coming again. The only question is whether you will be ready. In this urgent, plain-spoken classic, Bishop J. C. Ryle?one of the most trusted evangelical voices of the last two centuries?turns from everyday Christian living to the last things. He does not offer charts, dates, or speculation. He opens eight prophetic passages of Scripture and asks what they actually say about the signs of the times, the second coming of Christ, the future of the church, and the future of Israel. Then he lays down his own 11-point ?prophetical creed?: the world will not be fully converted before the end; this age is for gathering an elect people; Christ?s personal return is the great event believers should long for; after He comes the earth will be renewed and the curse removed. Throughout, Ryle?s concern is pastoral, not theoretical. Knowledge of prophecy that does not produce watchfulness, holiness, and hope is worthless.Clear, searching, and free of conjecture, this is Ryle at his most solemn and most useful?a book for anyone who wants to live ready.John Charles Ryle (10 May 1816 ? 10 June 1900) was an English Anglican clergyman, evangelical preacher, bishop, and prolific writer in the Reformed evangelical tradition. He served as the first Bishop of Liverpool and remains one of the most widely read Victorian evangelical authors.Ordained in the Church of England in December 1841, he began as a curate in Hampshire, then served as rector of Helmingham, Suffolk (1844?1861), and vicar of Stradbroke, Suffolk (1861?1880). In these rural parishes he developed a reputation for clear, forceful evangelical preaching and pastoral diligence.Ryle was a leading spokesman for evangelical Anglicanism. He strongly defended Protestant and Reformed doctrines (justification by faith alone, the authority and plenary inspiration of Scripture, personal conversion, and practical holiness), opposed ritualism and theological liberalism, and upheld the Thirty-Nine Articles. He was known for straightforward, application-focused preaching and as ?the prince of tract writers??hundreds of his tracts circulated in millions of copies (estimates reach 12 million) and were translated into many languages.Ryle?s writings combine doctrinal clarity, pastoral warmth, and urgent calls to personal godliness. They have remained in continuous print and continue to influence evangelicals across denominations more than a century after his death. This copy: Glossy green paperback. 169 pp. Light shelf wear to covers only. Pages crisp, clean, and unmarked. Binding square and tight. A well-kept copy. Full refund if not satisfied.…

J. C. Ryle, accepted as one of the foremost Bible teachers of the last 200 years, turns his attention to the future. He investigates the nature of Biblical prophecy, signs of the End Times, the Second Coming of Christ and the future state of the Church. He is careful not to push his interpretation of the texts, purposefully avoiding anything that can be called speculative or conjectural. Ryle analyses 8 prophetic scriptural passages and gives an 11–point summary of ‘his prophetical creed’.
