Paperback. There is nothing like this book on the market. Reading Lincoln - 3rd Edition - includes annotated reviews of over 550 books, ranging from campaign biographies written in the 1860s to works published in 2023. There is at least one selection from every decade 1850 to the present. The citations section points the reader to the specific page where each annotation can be found, vastly simplifying the search process. In addition to this the "Lincoln Littles" feature presents readers with unique information about our 16th president in an easily accessible format and each "Lincoln Little" now has a picture associated with it. The chapter featuring Lincoln in alternate media has been expanded to include even more movies, DVDs, and CDs and a new chapter, "Lincoln and Religion" addresses this controversial aspect of Lincoln's life. Over forty new pictures have been added, some of which can be found in no other book. Reading Lincoln is a powerful and unique resource for teachers, students, and readers (both serious and casual) who want to know more about Lincoln, specifically what books about him might be worth reading. Reviews include books for young adults as well as multi-volume works intended for serious Lincoln scholars. Reading Lincoln gives readers a broad look at all the issues, people, and events surrounding the life of our 16th president even more than if you read a biography because it describes the views of all the major biographers as well as presenting the information.
