Paperback. Ruby is a bundle of energy who would rather jump, skip, and play than read any day! Her boundless enthusiasm for physical activities leaves little room for books in her busy schedule. Why sit still with pages when there's a whole world to explore? But Ruby's reluctance to read soon leads to some embarrassing mishaps. When she mistakes cat food for trail mix, her taste buds get quite the surprise! And the day she accidentally wanders into the boys' bathroom? OOPS! These humorous mix-ups make Ruby realize that maybe reading signs, labels, and directions might actually be important after all.Through colorful illustrations and a relatable protagonist, this charming picture book tackles the challenge of encouraging reluctant readers with humor and heart. As Ruby discovers the practical benefits of reading in everyday life, young readers will be inspired to give books a chance too. Perfect for early elementary school children who are developing their reading skills and parents looking for a lighthearted way to emphasize the importance of literacy. Join Ruby on her journey from reading resistance to reading appreciation in this delightful tale about discovering that books can be just as exciting as playground adventures!
