The image size is ca. 20.7 x 15.7 inch.Antique print, titled: 'Naeuw-keurige Afbeeldinge van alle de Posten en Vastigheden, by dese weerende oorlogh gemaeckt in Holland, Utrecht en gedeelte van Gelderlandt door Johan van Loon.' - This map holds regular cartographic information of the Province uf Utrecht and parts of Holland and Gelderland, The Netherlands. Additionally the fortifications built during the disaster year 1672 are depicted. Scarse, particularly in this ed. Published in Amsterdam by Johan Janssonius van Waesberge, Boeckverkooper, in 1674. Later ed. exists re-published by Schenk-Valk, c.1700. State: 1 st. state of 2. Ref: FMH 2353.Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Johan van Loon'. Cartographer: Johan van Loon (ca.1612-1686). The publisher was Johan / Jan Janssonius van Waesberge. He name was actually Johannes van Waesberghe (Antwerp. 1616-c.1681). He incorporated Janssonius' name into his after he succeeded his father in law, the cartographer, printer and publisher Johannes Janssonius (1688-1664). He was married with his daughter Elisabeth Janssonius (1615-1681).Condition: Very good, given age. Map trimmed to image and attached to large carrier sheet. No rear tekst on map or carrier. Possibly as issued. Hand colouring appears original. Middle fold as issued. Irregular paper edges of carrier. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
