He completed his PhD from Deakin University Australia, winning the Best Doctoral Thesis Award followed by an Alfred Deakin Post Doc Fellowship. Nishar’s research is mainly focused on the design and development of advanced polymers, composites and hybrid materials. He has published 130 high impact journal papers, 7 book chapters, 5 edited books and 3 patents. He was invited to edit the first ever Hand Book on Epoxy Blends which was published in two volumes in 2017. His several achievements include many “firsts in the field, inspiring many follow-up studies. Nishar's research focusses on carbon fibre composites, multifunctional epoxy resins, graphene enabled coatings and composites and graphene sensors. Nishar won many awards as he advances his research career including Bayreuth Humboldt Centre Award, Smart Geelong Researcher of the Year, Young Tall Poppy Award, Phillip Law Award and prestigious fellowships including Victoria Fellowship, two Endeavour Fellowships and Australian Academy of Sciences AIECR and FASIC Fellowships. He has held visiting appointments at Rice University, University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern Mississippi, University of Kentucky, CNRS Montpellier, Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore.
Mazhar Peerzada did his Ph.D. in polymer composite materials from the University of Manchester, UK. He has a broad range of teaching experience and is a leading principal investigator of the Technical Textile Research Group, and a member of the Textile Composites Research Group at the University of Manchester, UK, and the Textile Composite Material Research Group, Pakistan. Currently, he is working on national and international research projects related to polymer composite materials and protective textiles. He has published several articles in well-reputed and peer-reviewed international research journals and has presented his work at various international and national conferences. He has also authored and co-authored several book chapters and edited books.
Dr Nisa Salim is a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Product Design Engineering at the School of Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology Australia. She received her PhD degree from Deakin University with a highly prestigious Gold Medal for Research Excellence from the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering. Her research team focuses on interdisciplinary science and engineering, including advanced composites manufacturing, nanomaterials and multifunctional materials, enabling key applications in space, aerospace, and defence. She has published over 80 high-impact journal papers, 4 edited books, 8 book chapters, and 1 patent application. Nisa won many awards in her research career, including the Smart Geelong Early Researcher award, Victoria Fellowship, Endeavour Fellowship, Alfred Deakin Fellowship, Australian Academy of Science AIEMCR Fellowship, and many more, even with a career break of more than 2 years. She also serves several professional bodies and learned societies: National Committee Member for Materials Science and Engineering, Australian Academy of Science, Treasurer (national) of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) Carbon Division (since 2018); Editorial Board Member (ECR) for the Chemical Engineering Journal, Polymers, and Journal of Composites Science
