Raising Your Child To Greatness In The Sight of God and In The Esteem of Man is written for parents who take moral responsibility seriously. It speaks to fathers and mothers who recognize that parenting is not merely about producing well-adjusted children, but about shaping lives that will influence generations.

While Scripture provides the primary authority and framework, the book addresses universal human realities — responsibility, suffering, character formation, legacy, and love. For this reason, its insights reach beyond a strictly Christian readership.

The book advances a clear and demanding claim: the most consequential work a man or woman will ever undertake is raising their children. That work begins long before birth and continues long after childhood. Drawing from more than fifty years of lived experience as a father and grandfather, the author examines parenting across its full span — from planning and conception to pregnancy, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and grandparenting. Each stage is presented as a sacred window that, once lost, cannot be recovered.

Seventeen chapters guide the reader through the entire parenting journey. Early chapters explore preparation for children, conception, pregnancy, and the formative early years, showing how parental attitudes, emotional climate, and moral choices influence a child even before birth. Middle chapters address bonding, discipline, safety, character formation, and the cultivation of seven core virtues: faithfulness, forgiveness, compassion, humility, passion, wisdom, and prayer. Later chapters consider adult children, caring for aging parents, grandparenting, and how families endure severe suffering without breaking. The final chapter presents prayer — not technique or sentiment — as the greatest legacy parents can leave.

Though deeply rooted in faith, the book is neither devotional nor denominational. It is moral counsel shaped by failure, remorse, recovery, and long reflection. Its aim is not to offer parenting methods, but to call parents to a higher vision of responsibility, influence, and legacy.
