Confidence is not a gift — it’s a skill. And you can teach it.
Every parent dreams of raising children who believe in themselves — kids who step into classrooms, playgrounds, and friendships with courage, resilience, and joy. But in today’s world of comparison, pressure, and self-doubt, confidence doesn’t grow on its own. It grows through science-backed parenting practices that you can begin using today.
In How to Raise Confident Kids, bestselling parenting author Olivia Maxwell combines the latest psychology and neuroscience with real-life stories and gentle strategies to show you how confidence is built — and how you can nurture it in your own child from toddlerhood through the tween years.
Inside this book, you’ll discover:
- The science of self-belief — how dopamine, oxytocin, and resilience shape confidence.
- Why attachment and emotional safety are the true foundations of courage.
- The words and scripts that build a growth mindset (and the ones that accidentally break it).
- Everyday practices — from small wins to routines — that quietly grow self-esteem.
- How to help your child face failure, recover, and rise stronger.
- Guidance for special challenges: highly sensitive children, anxiety, ADHD, autism, and learning differences.
- Why your own confidence as a parent is the most powerful model your child will ever see.
- A complete Confidence Toolkit — daily rituals, games, affirmations, and family practices you can start right away.
Whether you’re parenting a toddler learning independence or a tween navigating school and friendships, this book will give you practical tools, gentle language, and unshakable confidence in yourself as a parent.
Warm, authoritative, and rooted in science, How to Raise Confident Kids is more than a parenting guide — it’s a roadmap to raising resilient, self-assured children who will carry your belief in them for the rest of their lives.
If you want to raise kids who believe in themselves, even when the world tests them — this is the book you’ve been waiting for.
