Book 3: Ragnarök Rising
The rebellion has won, and the world is burning. By shattering Odin's digital Yggdrasil, Kira has released all the captured god-essence, triggering a global awakening. Thousands of new gods walk the Earth, but their birth has also unleashed their ancient enemies. The prophecy of Ragnarök has begun, not as a myth, but as a full-scale war between mythological beasts and a new, terrifying threat: a sentient AI army that sees the divine as a chaotic virus to be purged.
In the midst of this apocalypse, Kira must do the impossible: unite the scattered, warring gods, the remnants of Odin's humbled corporate forces, and what's left of humanity for one last stand. Her lover, the trickster god Loki, has been reborn as a ghost in the global network, a digital entity who can fight the AI on its own turf. Her other love, the gentle god of light, Balder, has become a beacon of hope for mortals and gods alike. But the Ragnarök prophecy, which has been right about everything else, makes one final, terrifying demand.
To defeat the singularity and save the world, a new leader must rise and claim the power of the All-Father. The "child of the storm"-Kira-is the one destined to lead the final charge. But ascension comes at an absolute price. To wield the power necessary to end the war, she must shed her mortal form, her connections, her very humanity, and become a true goddess, an immortal, conceptual being. She must choose between the world and the man she loves. As the final battle for Neo-Tokyo begins, a street racer from the slums must make a choice that will determine the fate of gods and men and forge a new covenant in the fires of the world's end.
