"Radical Honesty" is not a kinder, gentler self-help book. In it Dr. BradBlanton, a psychotherapist and expert on stress management, explodes the myths, superstitions, and lies by which we live. He shows us how stress comes notfrom the environment, but from the self-built jail of the mind. What keeps usin our self-built jails is lying. "We all lie like hell, " Dr. Blanton says."It wears us out...it is the major source of all human stress. It kills us."Not telling our friends, lovers, spouses, or bosses about what we do, feel, orthink keeps us locked in that jail. The way out is to get good at telling thetruth. Dr. Blanton provides the tools we can use to escape the jail of themind. This book is the cake with the file in it.
In "Radical Honesty," Dr. Blanton coaches us on how to have lives thatwork, how to have relationships that are alive and passionate, and how tocreate intimacy where none exists. As we have been taught by the philosophicaland spiritual sources of our culture for thousands of years, from Plato toNietzsche, from the Bible to Emerson, "the truth shall set you free."
"Outrageously entertaining and wonderfully wise....apply it liberallythroughout your life." --Gay Hendricks, Ph.D., co-author of "ConsciousLoving"
"Dr. Blanton advocates a take-no-prisoners approach to honesty that would sendMiss Manners shrieking from the room." --Elizabeth Hickey, "The WashingtonTimes"

From the Author
We all lie like hell all the time. This is the secret to our success. I wrote Radical Honesty after learning from my clients, based on twenty-five years of the private practice of psychotherapy, that distinguishing between noticing and thinking, or knowing the difference between identifying oneself as one's thoughts versus identifying one's self as the being in the moment, is possible when one tells the truth. Knowing the difference between ideas about reality and reality itself is the key to enlightenment. Therefore, Radical Honesty is the first step on the road to enlightenment. This is without a doubt the best book I have ever read. I can't think of anything I agree with more. Buy the book, read it, and then email me at SPARROWH@SHENTEL.NET. Brad Ph.D. Blanton
