She’s experimental, transgressive, and vulnerable. Madison never turns away from love, takes risks she shouldn’t, and hears a Voice that imparts messages about things she does not want to know. She would kill to protect the woman she loves and the man who loves her. Her child is everything. No one will take her away without a fight. She cries, she breaks down, she’s angry, she’s an artistic genius. Madison Ayana is dragged into a cosmic mystery that will change the future of humanity. Her drawings of an alien spacecraft have unwittingly laid bare the greatest government cover-up of all time.

Revealing her source will shatter her life. Even under interrogation, she will not talk about voices she hears. She would be labeled crazy. Accused of espionage, her only hope is the lead agent who risks her career and her heart to become an unlikely ally. Madison is the key to understanding why an alien race would traverse the Milky Way to visit humanity.

What Madison sees is far greater than an alien spacecraft heading toward Earth. As the stakes escalate, she must confront her humanity, her ability to love, and her willingness to sacrifice. When a spherical object hedges closer to the planet, humanity's fate hangs in the balance. Madison holds the pen that will write Earth's future. These highly advanced space travelers have a very personal reason for their visit.

Writing has always been part of my artistic journey. After studying ceramics in Japan for two and a half years, I settled in Hudson, WI. My vocation as a potter supported my thirst for writing. In both my writing and my work in ceramics, I use colorful characters and layered plotlines to create a palpable sense of texture and depth. "The Change," my first novel, won the Conference Choice Award at the 2017 San Diego State Writers' Conference. The agented book faced the blistering realities of the publishing world and has yet to be printed. "The 2nd Coming of Orlando Rock" (Mirador 2022) became a Page Turner award winner in 2023. I won the Hummingbird's Editor's Choice Award for my short story, "The Bruised Peach." "Radical Encounter" extends Madison's journey into a cosmic mystery and naturally follows Orlando Rock. The novel is a 2024 Page Turner Finalist. Although a series, the two are stand-alone novels. Writing is a thrilling adventure, demanding persistence, and wading through disappointment. Like ceramics, it is a creative journey. For this, I am grateful.
