Synopsis: This is an old-fashioned fairy tale about a ten year old girl in the days of yore who wants to do her part to save the Royal Garden from a mysterious curse that is causing it to die. She travels to the castle to offer her services to the King and Queen, and on her adventure she makes friends with three unusual animals and meets an awesome sorceress. The story is filled with mystery, excitement, wit, and good-hearted innocence. It also has several surprises. Both parents and teachers have told us that once they start reading the book to children, the children don't want them to stop until the story is finished. At least a dozen elementary school classes have made Rachel & The Royal Garden a class project, writing book reports and drawing pictures which they have then sent to us.

About the Author: Lynda Dumas and her husband, John, co-authored the book. Lynda grew up in the deep South and attended the University of Miami. She has worked in many different fields including medicine, law and computers. John was raised in Oregon, going to the University of Washington in Seattle and, after a tour of duty as a Marine Corp fighter pilot, to Pepperdine Law School in California. He is now a practicing attorney in Portland.
