SECOND ISSUE circa 1909, 4to, 250 x 200 mm, 9¾ x 7¾ inches, buff cloth, illustrated red and black, 47 pages. Coloured title illustration and 20 delightful plates printed black and white and heightened with single colours (shades of red, green etc. - see images). Plates all of children, many with toys, each facing page of verse, poems all about child life, pleasures and pain. Very slightly worn at head of spine, front endpaper missing and 30 mm (1¼") of front inner paper hinge cracked at top, small very pale stain to 1 lower margin, otherwise contents very nice. Very good bright copy. In the first issue (1898) all the plates are in full colour. This is the artist's first book.
