About this Item

Copy number 12 of 365 copies as stated on the signed limitation page at front of book. About as nice a copy as could be hoped for, both inside and out. The very scarce dust jacket is present in unchipped condition. Just a bit sunned at the edges and with a bit of color change to the spine. Per the color on the covers of the jacket, the original color was a light purple to go along with the theme of Romany wines. The spine and upper edge of the jacket are now a light blue in color, however. Still attractive, and the two colors actually blend together very nicely. Lettering on the spine of jacket is still bold. No design on the jacket other than the spine lettering, and the inside flaps are also blank. Book itself is beautifully preserved. The decorated covers of grape clusters in colors of blue and gold against the black field are still vibrantly bright. Some edge wear and corner wear to the paper covered boards. Contents very clean and some pages still unopened. Bit of aging to the paper stock giving a nice vintage appearance actually. Wonderful writing tyical of the best work of the author. Varied content as he roams in his memory not just in France but all over Europe. Not just about wine either. He liked sloe gin too. And there is a chapter on a coffee bar. Octavo, 289pp. Bookseller Inventory # 2163
