Published as promotional booklets by Elgin National Watch Company, Chicago. Both volumes bear identical printed tipped-in promotional sheets on front cover reverse bearing the name/address of J. P. Statler, Jeweler, Somerset, Pennsylvania. Both booklets contain color illustrations by Hugh Rankin, early illustrator of Robert E. Howard's Conan series, and Harold DeLay, also a Howard illustrator known for his Frank L. Baum book illustrations. ;
