Working as a factory mechanic for the ROKON ISDT Team changed the course of my life. What began as an opportunity to help a small motorcycle company compete on the world stage grew into a 40-year career in the motorcycle industry and memories that have stayed with me ever since.
I still remember the long drives across the country supporting our riders as they chased their dream of representing the United States at the "Olympics of Motorcycling." I remember traveling to Peru to demonstrate the RT 340 to the Peruvian Army, building race bikes late into the night, and attending the 1975 Isle of Man Six Days Trial. Those experiences were the adventure of a lifetime.
And who would have thought a motorcycle with a pull starter could win gold medals against the best machines in the world? We did-and we proved it.
When author, historian, and motorcycle restoration expert Keith Geisner contacted me about this project, I was delighted to revisit the photographs, documents, and memories I had carefully saved for more than fifty years. His passion for the story matches our passion for the motorcycle, and this book brings that remarkable era back to life.

A thorough extensive piece of ROKON history, a New Hampshire USA based manufacturer who also developed and to this day supports and manufactures a 2-wheel drive off road explorer motorcycle originally called the Trail-Breaker.
I contributed material to this book and was happy for the opportunity to look through the photos and documents I had saved from the 1970s.
I found the book in my roadside mailbox, backed my car up right there, and started reading. I didn't stop until I'd read it cover to cover - it was dark out by the time I finished and drove up to the house. I thought I understood Rokon's history before then, but I had no idea how much went on behind the scenes.
The thoroughness of the research and the scope of what's covered here are staggering. This isn't a casual overview - it's a serious, well-documented history of ROKON's racing years, and it shows the depth of work that went into putting it together. For anyone interested in ROKON or off-road motorcycle history generally, this book is worth having.
The "ROKON - The Racing Years" is entrenched directly in the years immediately following ON ANY SUNDAY, a 1970-1971 motorcycle inspirational documentary staring Malcolm Smith, Steve McQueen, and countless off-road racers and riders. Rokon was right there in the midst of it.

Returns Policy
We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to PBShop.store UK, Fairford, United Kingdom, +44 1285 712917, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
