A USED, THICK, SOFTCOVER BOOK. This wonderful book is in reasonably good condition, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. No dust jacket. 591 pages all intact, all pages, text and illustrations are all in good, clean, readable order. This lavishly illustrated biography of Augustine Rodin draws for the first time on little examined archives and letters to provide a major reinterpretation of the great sculptor's life, disentangling many of the myths surrounding him. Butler's book is the definitive life of Rodin. Lucid and comprehensive, it is a work of painstaking dedication that is at the same time a gripping and compelling narrative in its own right. - Norman Bryson, Times literary supplement.
