From the perspective of a radio station in the four-power city of Berlin, the book reflects the confrontation and the attitude to life in divided Berlin; it recalls the incisive political events and the formative personalities, the cultural new beginning in the destroyed city and, last but not least, the popular entertainment and cabaret programs. - A book to browse and remember, a re-encounter with the listening experiences of millions of RIAS listeners in the former GDR and a document of contemporary history. Unforgettable the program of the islanders with "Funzionar" Walter Gross ". und damit liebe Jenossen und Jenossinnen, komme ick nunmehr ßu unsern heutijen Themata".
