This is the first of a series of four volumes produced by the University of Reading. This volume, which is particularly scarce and sought after, covers the 8th Battalion's action on 25th September, 1915. Commencing at 0630h, by nightfall 493 of the 800 officers and men had become casualties. Three weeks later the survivors, together with their fellow volunteers from the 5th Battalion, went into action again. They suffered heavily, with little to show for their bravery. Terms of sale
Military History Books was founded many years ago in London and, several iterations later, it's now in the capable and expert hands of Armed Forces Veterans based in the sunny South-West of England. The 7,000+ book inventory will be available on AbeBooks early in 2025 and one of the first tasks will be to append photographs and full descriptions to as many of the listings as possible; a huge task, as we're sure you'll agree.
Operating from a large, temperature and humidity controlled building, we don't just sell books but also Magazines (mainly Aviation & Modelling) and Technical Publications. Obviously, the more we sell, the more we have to replace, so if you find yourself with a surplus quantity of titles of a military nature (and that covers all 3 Services throughout the world (plus 'Space', come to think of it!); get in touch and talk to us.
We look forward to being of service.
