Item description from seller

R. S. Donnell, S. H. C. [and] Giles Mebane, S. S. RESOLUTION OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA IN RELATION TO THE PAY OF DISABLED SOLDIERS. At top of 1st page: “Senate, January 21, 1865.--Read, referred to the Committee on Military Affairs, and ordered to be printed. [By Mr. Graham.]” Single leaf, 1p., title bears faintest trace of the oval "Rebel Archives" stamp, margins are mildly toned with numerous small chips and short closed tears. Fair to good. Parrish & Willingham 419. "Resolved, That our senators and representatives in Congress be requested to use their influence in procuring the passage of a law which shall allow pay to soldiers discharged from the army on account of being disabled, such as is given to those who are placed on the retired list but not actually discharged. Ratified the 22d day of December, A. D., 1864. Text concludes with certification of the authenticity of the resolution by C. R. Thomas, Secretary of State. Please email with questions or to request photos. This Confederate Imprint is one of more than 100 recently acquired, most with 'Rebel Archives' stamp on the cover, indicating that these were the actual copies seized by the Union Army at the end of the Civil War. A remarkable collection.
