Item description from seller
Editors Alfonso F. Cárdenas and Dennis McLeod bring together-in a single source numerous research and development articles that represent seminal contributions to the state-of-the-art of semantic and object-oriented database systems, authored by many noted scholars in the field. As a precurser to the papers, a thorough overview of both semantic (structurally object-oriented) databases and behaviorally object-oriented databases ja presented. This volume features a myriad of valuable discussions from main principles. concepts, and mechanisms, to techniques underlying the technology: a historical perspective is provided as well. The contributed papers arn conveniently structured into three major sections: Concepts and Techniques. Systems and implementations, and Applications 785 gr.
