With around 370 pages. Contemporary binding with waxed canvas spine and corners. Illustrated with various tables, maps and charts, some of which are large fold-outs. Title page with the arms of Queen Maria II. Includes some documents originally in English or French with the text laid out in two columns, with the transcription on the right and the Portuguese translation on the left. Copy with handwriten ownership title and oleographic stamp of possession from the lawyer Rui de Sousa. It has tiny moth holes at the foot of the first 20 leaves, without reaching the text area; and larger ones on the last 10 leaves and on the back of the rear board, sometimes reaching some tables, but without ever affecting the reading. This report is the result of the work of a commission appointed by Queen Maria II, whose aim was to take knowledge of the state of the consolidated foreign debt and to propose to the government the means it deemed most viable for paying the respective interest and amortisation. Several members of this commission left the project, and in the end only the three listed as the authors remained. The first 48 pages contain the text summarising the results obtained by the commission, followed by an annex containing 113 documents, maps and balance sheets.
