Encadernação da época inteira de pele, com nervos e ferros a ouro na lombada. Corte das folhas carminado. Ilustrado com uma magnífica gravura com as armas reais de Portugal de D. João V no centro da folha de rosto, com cabeções constituídos por vinhetas no início da Taboada e por xilogravura com as armas reais ao centro na página 1, com belas iniciais decoradas (no início do alvará real) e alegórica na página 1. Está decorada também com um conjunto de florões de remate em que os mais notáveis pela beleza e dimensões são os do fim da taboada e os daa páginas 27, 69, 119, 123 e 134. Exemplar com a encadernação desgastada, em especial nas coifas e junto às charneiras, com alguma perda de pele. Com pequena mancha na folha de rosto junto ao festo, que provocou abrasão superficial e com reforço no verso. Pequeno pico de traça marginal à cabeça das primeiras folhas sem afectar mancha gráfica. Com anotações em letra coeva nas folhas de guarda, em que a anotação na folha de guarda posterior tem a data de 1728. As páginas preliminares contêm a Taboada, ou seja, um pormenorizado índice dos capítulos, e o alvará real que explica os motivos da sua elaboração e ordena a observância das suas determinações. As páginas 151 a 177 contêm um índice temático e a página final está em branco. Muito raro e importante para o estudo da organização e funcionamento das finanças do Reino de Portugal durante o século XVIII. Os seus 127 capítulos apresentam um conjunto de normas e determinações sobre o pessoal, as funções a executar e as formas de registar e controlar as receitas e despesas do reino de Portugal e das suas possessões ultramarinas em Africa, Ásia e Brasil (Cap.18). Em 1751 um decreto Real recomendou a observância deste Regimento. A Casa dos Contos foi um órgão de ordenação e fiscalização das receitas e despesas da Coroa, que existiu desde o século XIII até 1761, quando foi substítuido pelo Erário Régio. A partir de 1627 passou a desempenhar as funções de organismo central de contabilidade e de tribunal fiscal de última instância. O mais antigo Regimento dos Contos data de 5 de Julho de 1378. Seguiram-se outros em 1419, 1434, 1560 e 1627. Uma parte das suas funções são hoje desempenhadas pelo Tribunal de Contas. In folio. 29x20 cm. [xvi], 177, [i] pp. Contemporary full leather binding, raised bands and gilt iron tools. Red edges. Illustrated with a magnificent engraving with King John V royal arms of Portugal in the centre of the title page, with headings consisting of vignettes at the beginning of the Taboada and by woodcut with the royal arms in the centre on page 1, with beautifully decorated capitals (at the beginning of the royal charter) and allegorical on page 1. It is also decorated with a set of ?fleurons? at the end of chapters, the most notable for their beauty and size being those at the end of the ?Taboada? and on page 27, 69, 119, 123 and 134. Copy with worn binding, especially at the top and near the hinges, with some loss of leather. With small stain on title page, which caused surface abrasion and with reinforcement restoration on verso. Small spike of moth at head of first leaves. With annotations in coeval handwriting on the endpapers, where the annotation on the front endpaper is dated 1728. The preliminary pages contain the Taboada, i.e. a detailed index of the chapters, and the royal charter which explains the reasons for its preparation and orders the observance of its determinations. Pages 151 to 177 contain a thematic index and the final page is blank. Very rare and important for the study of the organisation and functioning of the finances of the Kingdom of Portugal during the 18th century. Its 127 chapt.

You may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us or Livraria Castro e Silva, Avenida Almirante Reis, 89D, 1150-013 Lisboa, Portugal, 351 213467380, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
