Original red cloth binding with gilt lettering and decoratoion. colour on-lays to front board and spine, bevelled edges to boards, binding with some general wear and rubbing, cloth very slightly frayed to head/tail of spine and corners, gilt dulled, on-lay to spine rubbed, slight staining to rear board. Top edge gilt, Contents good, original patterned end papers, inscriptions, a little general reading wear and a few pages with short marginal tears, a few finger marks, a couple of the in-text illustrations have been very carefully and attractively coloured, binding with a little movement.
