Print on Demand. This book explores the tumultuous history of labor movements in France, particularly the emergence and evolution of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT). Beginning in the late 19th century, the author follows the development of this powerful trade union federation, examining its role in shaping labor policies and advocating for workers' rights, with a special focus on its controversial stance on revolutionary action. The book sheds light on the internal dynamics of the CGT, its conflicts with the government, its influence on French society, and its legacy in shaping labor relations in the country. Through extensive research and analysis, this book offers valuable insights into the complexities of labor struggles, the rise of syndicalism, and the ongoing quest for social justice.
