Print on Demand. This book delves into the lives of those who worked in London's plague-ridden streets as it tore through the poor and rich alike in 1665. The author provides vivid accounts of the plague's physical and emotional toll on its victims and their families. Amidst the suffering, the author explores the heroic efforts of medical professionals, whose attempts to alleviate pain were often outweighed by the plague's deadly force. The book also captures the social upheaval brought on by the plague, from the formation of burial teams to the rise of apocalyptic religious thought. It is a powerful and moving portrayal of a time when London's bustling streets became a landscape of death and despair. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
