Item description from seller

Softcover. Black-and-white pictorial wraps, stapled at the fold. 8 1/2 x 11 inches, 15 pages, in very good condition. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white images of compressors and compressor accessories. Pages 3-7 and 10-12 comprise the listings of individual models of Quincy compressors. Each page contains a black-and-white illustration of a different model of compressor, accompanied by a description and a table with specifications. Description lists full load speed in RPM; table gives specifications for one or more models, such as size, horsepower of motor, RPM, diameter of pipe openings (air inlet and outlet), physical dimensions, and approximate shipping weight, among others. Page 9 contains a labeled and color-coded illustration of a compressor; two colors, orange and brown, represent the oil (lubrication) and water (cooling) systems respectively. Labels lead to descriptions of labeled parts on page 8; descriptions are given for such components as the cylinder and head casting, the non-breakable valves, the piston rings, the crankcase and crankshaft, and the connecting rods. Pages 13-14 contain a series of black-and-white illustrations and descriptions of compressor accessories, such as the pressure unloader, the automatic and manual starters, the air filter, the air receiver, and the safety valve; the air receiver entry is accompanied by a table comparing the capacity (in gallons), the working pressure (in pounds) and the weight of various sizes of air receiver, while other description specify, if at all, what different sizes the component is available in. Page 15 contains a chart measure the flow of air through an orifice in cubic feet of free air per minute; categories measured are receiver gauge pressure and diameter of the orifice. Covers exhibit mild shelfwear, with some minor wear and creasing to edges and corners. Front cover bears stamps from a catalogue library, with one stamp with date (December 10, 1938) indicating date of receipt by the catalogue library. Pages are free of pen or pencil markings.
