nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Quiet Thoughts for an Anxious Time: Talks in a College Chapel is a collection of Dr. Stewart A. Jackson's talks to college students. They provide much needed comfort and understanding for anyone who reads them. Without 'preaching,' Dr. Jackson's conversational style invites readers to consider their life as a gift and, for those in college, their college years as sacred time. The role of the chaplain is to be a stress reducer, a 'transformer' if you will. No matter what other tasks the chaplain is assigned, he or she is in a position to scale down the electric franticness of the institution or the situation and give it a moment of rest, of breathing room, and to offer a chance to reflect upon what brought us all to this point in our lives in the first place. This book collects some of his 'reflections' and is a sample of his warmth, humor, and love for all. Readers will be able to: read a chapter for each week of a college's fall and spring semester;see how Biblical principles relate to the college experience;remember how God's love can bind up anxiety despite the situation.…
