Add to basketNew and Revised Edition. Date does not appear on title page, but in his Preface to this Second Edition, dated January 1885, the author notes that "the first edition [1883].having been exhausted in a few months," this one came out as soon as his time allowed. It has been cut down from xvi + 250 pages to ix + 95 pages and was intended for a more general, less scholarly audience, but with no essential materials eliminated, as the author himself insists. There are excellent foldouts of pyramid cutaways in the back of the book, fully intact. The binding is fairly solid, but not perfect, and three attached pages in the front are detached from the rest of the book. There are no underlinings, but a few small markings, a tiny bookplate and a bit of foxing in the very front. The front cover has dark brown lettering in capitals and a symbol over a medium brown background. The spine and back cover are plain. Deckle edged. The cover has occasional small bumps along its perimeter, making it uneven in places. Pictures can be supplied. Any edition of this book before about 1910 is quite rare. The larger 1883 edition being currently offered from Leeds, UK has marbled boards which, while quite attractive, are likely not original. It also has faint library stamps.
