This Australian book meets the needs of those interested in pure breed poultry raising. It combines poultry fancy lore with modern biology and poultry technology in an Australian setting. It is aimed primarily at those starting out in the world of pure breed poultry raising without any previous knowledge of poultry. It gives both the beginner and the novice a sensible formula for success that can be built upon as interest develops. This book will be essential should the hobby farmer enter the world of the poultry fancy with its extra dimension in beauty, the challenge of breeding to a standard and the resulting sense of achievement. For the old hands, the biological and selected technical components of this book will enrich their already well-developed interest in the poultry fancy. It will be useful to agriculture teachers who realise that poultry can be used to provide much hands on experience for students without having to resort to elaborate or expensive set-ups in school. 80 pages.
