Contemp. half calf, marbled boards, spine ruled & lettered in gilt; corners sl. bumped, extremities sl. rubbed. Robert Huish, 1777-1850, was a prolific author of novels, miscellanies, and history books, though he did not garner a particularly positive reputation in any of these pursuits. One article in the July 1835 issue of the Quarterly Review called him an 'unscrupulous scribbler' and a 'hack', but fortunately it was not in response to this volume.
