The topic of prosperity is important because it is God's desire for His people to prosper. It is also important when you look at it from a Kingdom perspective – because prosperity is needed in the spread of God's kingdom in the earth.
The Bible reveals several godly people who were prosperous. Among some of these characters, is Job.
The Bible reveals the prosperity of Job was such that he was “the greatest of all the men of the east.
It is clear to me that modern magazines that declare the ranking of peoples according to their wealth picked their inspiration from this Bible verse – indeed nothing is new under the sun.
The study of Job and his prosperity is important because it offers us great insights about prosperity from one who was the wealthiest in the east. This is a man who had risen to such great heights of prominence that he could not be ignored in his day.
The study of Job and his prosperity is also important because of the nature or character of Job. The Bible describes the nature or character of Job as one who was perfect and upright.
The nature and character of Job is important to us today because while there are many who are very prosperous in our time, few have the quality of character that Job possessed.
The prosperity of Job was because of his godliness while the prosperity of many today is because of their ungodliness.
Many today are prosperous out of theft, conning, killing, murdering while others have even gone to the extent of worshiping and sacrificing to the devil who has promised them the wealth of this world so long as they worship him.
Indeed the scriptures mention the prosperity of the wicked. Meaning the foundation of their wealth and the means through which they obtained their wealth is because of their wickedness. From such we have nothing to emulate.
Psalms 73:3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
The study of “Prosperity Job's Way” is therefore a great source of inspiration from one who was godly and whose prosperity had its foundation in godliness.
It is heart warming to know that it is possible to be godly and prosper in this wicked world. That the prosperity that is available to the godly man is such that even the ungodly cannot measure up to or reach.
The prosperity of Job was more than that which the ungodly of his day had managed to amass even with all the theft, violence, corruption etc.
The prosperity of Job is something every single person, especially, those who profess to know God should seek to learn from and emulate.
I encourage you to read on and discover some of the things that caused Job to prosper as he did and what he also did with the prosperity the Lord gave him.
