lii + >95pp notes + 95pp Chinese text. Foreword, introduction, appendix and conversion table from pinyin to Wade-Giles transcription system in English; notes in Chinese and English; literary texts in Chinese only. Covers creased and rubbed, very occasional soiling last leaves, otherwise a good copy. Scandinavian Institute of Asian Studies Monograph Series. "Apart from the inherent interest of the Chinese texts themselves, this work is designed as a textbook for students who have studied the Chinese language for one or two years and who are now ready to read the literature. It is a collection of essays written over the last 30 years by Chinese scholars, all of whom have been criticised by the Chinese Communist Party or by the Government. The work of these authors constitutes an important part of Chinese literature which the world must not continue to ignore. Several Western scholars claim that Chinese literature has been strangled by the repressive actions taken by the Communist authorities. This book will prove the existence of literature as a dynamic force still alive in China today." (Publisher's description).…

Shipping terms
The shipping prices quoted on ABEBooks reflect what we have found to be the "average book". Of course in reality there are many books that do not weigh what an "average book" weighs so there are times when we need to requote shipping, just as there are times when we are in position to refund some of the shipping. Please rest assured we try to get your order to you for a reasonable price, as quickly and as well packed (we carefully pack all of our parcels in book boxes) as possible.
